Frequently Asked Questions

We want you to feel completely comfortable on our retreats, so we have tried to answer all the questions you may be worried about. If you still have questions, please reach out to us and we’d be happy to answer anything.

  • Our travel companions encompass diverse backgrounds, ethnicities, and nationalities, all comfortable with English. We don't limit by age; our group spans 22 to 88, with the majority falling within the 40-65 range. Remarkably, I'm consistently awed by the deep bonds that form between individuals aged 25 and 75—it's almost enchanting. This mix of people from various places and life stages makes our trips uniquely special. Nurturing connections is what defines Nourish Travel. The resulting bonds empower all involved.

  • Our groups are wonderfully intimate, typically ranging from 6 to 12 incredible individuals. The sweet spot usually hovers around 8 to 10 participants. Of course, these numbers can shift from retreat to retreat, influenced by whether our travelers bring along their friends or embark on solo adventures.

  • About 75% of our travelers come solo. They’re single or widowed, married with partners who can’t or don’t want to travel, or just want a new experience. The balance is mothers & daughters, sisters, and close friends who travel together.

  • Our trips are designed and priced for single occupancy and twin/double occupancy if you're traveling with a friend or family member and want to share, you can save money.

We can also pair you up with other solo travellers in a shared room if you’d like to save money. We never charge an extra fee for solo travellers.

  • As long as we know ahead of time, we can accommodate almost any dietary restriction.

  • If your journey to Italy involves crossing an ocean, it might be a good idea to plan your arrival a day or two in advance. This will give you the chance to unwind and acclimate to the local time zone. Should you arrive early, please let us know and we'll gladly assist you with your travel arrangement.

  • Your regular health insurance may not apply abroad. We ensure you have travel medical insurance that offers temporary coverage, including emergency medical expenses, evacuations, and 24/7 assistance. Your well-being during unforeseen events is our priority.

  • Some countries might ask for vaccinations or health tests before you enter. We want to make sure your journey is smooth, so we kindly ask all our travelers to follow the entry rules of each country we visit. We believe that health decisions are personal, whether it's about vaccinations for Covid-19 or other contagious conditions. However, not meeting a country's entry requirements might prevent you from joining the trip. It's important to note that this situation wouldn't qualify for a refund under travel restrictions.

For the latest recommendations and guidance, you can check out the CDC website. To stay on the safe side, the CDC suggests getting any needed vaccinations at least a month before you travel.

  • Don’t forget your Passport. Please be sure you have enough empty pages without stamps in your passport and that it is good for a full 6 months after the date you return from your trip.

  • Nourish Travel Retreats are for all levels of practise. We've had many yoga beginners come to the retreats, and many who found a new love (or renewed love) of the practice. One of the reasons we like to keep the number of guests so small is to better personalise the classes and yoga attention placed on each person. After seeing where each guest is in their yoga practice and level, the classes can be given on what best suits the group. Plus, there is a range of styles and levels taught throughout the week so you can choose the classes which best suit you.

  • At Nourish Travel, we're excited to be part of the global movement for Authentic Responsible Travel. We believe that the manner in which you travel and the choices you make throughout your journey are just as significant as your destination.

    Our Travel Principles:

Authentic Approach: Our trips revolve around engaging with local people and cultures. By understanding their histories, food, language, customs, values, and priorities, we honor their unique perspective. Despite our differences, our shared human experiences create a strong connection.

Responsible Travel: When we travel, we're entering someone else's home. To ensure a positive impact, we work to minimize harm to the environment and the cultures we explore, while maximizing the benefits for local communities.

Our commitment to Authentic Responsible Travel is evident in every aspect of our trips:

Timing Matters: We choose off-season or shoulder-season for our retreats to avoid contributing to overcrowding.

Respectful Impact: We prioritise minimising environmental harm and treating all living beings, including humans, animals, and plants, with deep respect.

Immersive Cultural Experience: We go beyond sightseeing, immersing ourselves in local customs, languages, history, food, and drinks. We consider ourselves guests rather than mere tourists.

Open Hearts and Minds: We embrace new experiences and remain open to the ever-changing world around us.

Climate Conscious: When flying, we calculate and offset our carbon emissions by contributing to Earth-saving initiatives.

Embracing Discovery: Travel is a journey of discovery. We welcome new places, people, foods, and ways of life.

Gratitude and Privilege: We're grateful for the opportunity to travel, recognising it as a unique privilege.

Join us in our mission to travel the world responsibly and authentically!

  • On behalf of every guest who travel with us, Nourish Travel makes a donation to a local restoration or preservation project. It is our commitment to help preserve the very culture that we are so generously allowed to enjoy.
